Hip Replacement Surgery
Dr Cundy performs total hip replacement for patients with hip arthritis, avascular necrosis, and other conditions causing significant pain and loss of mobility.

He takes a thorough approach to pre-operative assessment and works with patients to set realistic expectations around recovery and outcomes.
What Patients Can Expect
At the initial consultation Dr Cundy will review imaging, assess hip function, and discuss all treatment options including non-surgical alternatives. If surgery is recommended, he will explain the procedure, implant options, expected recovery, and risks. Most patients return to normal daily activities within 6–8 weeks of hip replacement.
When to Refer
Refer patients with moderate to severe hip pain limiting daily activities that has not responded adequately to conservative management (physiotherapy, analgesia, weight management). Include weight-bearing AP pelvis and lateral hip X-rays and note any significant comorbidities relevant to surgical risk.
